So You Want To Be A Fairy...

I have always been a nature girlie. Growing up in the middle of the US, green was everywhere. Visits to local forest preserves and gardens were fairly frequent as my dad's hobby was nature photography. When I was surrounded by trees, I felt like I was home. I remember many times dreaming of living in a tree house so I never had to go back indoors. Even now as an adult, if I spend too much time inside, I get sad.
As a teen, this deep connection to nature led me to read about Wicca and paganism. Much of it made sense to me, as nature felt very spiritual. Then I read a book called the Mists of Avalon, a retelling of Arthurian legend through the eyes of the women in the stories. There were fairies who lived in another realm in the book but also people who were much closer to mortal beings who had some fairy blood. And those people were described as being smaller in stature and dark. As a shorty with tan skin, I immediately made the connection. Of course I was drawn to nature, I was a fairy! It all made sense. And it was all a wonderful excuse to wear an incredible amount of glitter.
As I aged, I began expressing my fairy energy less literally and experimenting with other styles as well. But I find that I have come full circle. Even now, in my 40's, my home still looks and feels like the enchanted forest with flowers and bones and crystals everywhere. This brings me to the purpose of this post for my fellow forest fairies or anyone who loves nature and wants to bring some whimsy into their daily life: I have a series of short videos called Fairy Life that I have been sharing every Whimsical Wednesday. So if you've always felt like a fairy at heart or you simply want to make your space more playful, I am here to help.
Here is the playlist of the video series, enjoy and have fun with it!
